MAGNOLIA PHOTOGRAPHY BEGAN AS A LITTLE DREAM...
My love of photography started when I picked up my first SLR camera in high school for photography class. I spent a lot of time behind the camera and in the dark room. As time went on and I moved to the majestic Rocky Mountain states of Montana, Wyoming and Colorado. I fell in love with photographing landscapes. After having my two kids my time with my camera changed from landscapes to their sweet little faces. Those young years go so fast and it is so important to me to capture those memories.
Should I? Can I do it? Will I fail? The questions I asked myself repeatedly. With some extra pushes from friends and family I decided to take a big leap and start Magnolia Photography in October 2018. This journey has been such a rewarding experience. My passion for photography grows with each session, pushing myself to continually be better. I love getting to meet and work with so many new people, capturing lasting memories for my clients they will cherish.
Outside of Magnolia Photography, I love spending time with my husband and two children. We are big K-State fans and spend a lot of time at athletic events. We love to travel and explore and of course, my camera is usually in tow. One of my happiest places is in a hammock by the lake reading.
As I grow as a photographer my style becomes more developed. I love warm light and intimate moments. I love to work in both color and black and white. Sometimes I go a little moody, sometimes a little light and airy. I feel the vibes of my clients and match our session with my style. I like to work with my clients to ensure I capture what you are looking for. I do some posed photography but I thrive on the candid, unexpected moments. I will ask you to snuggle, tickle and play games. I will ask you to tell jokes and laugh. I will ask you to look everywhere but my camera. And the result makes me so happy and proud. Real moments. Pure smiles. True love.
